MONSTER party stt\'s- how do they pan out?
i can see people starting to take interest in them.
the cash game players are pretty furious at the raised rake and fee, and how fishies will be drawn to the jackpot not knowing the rake is horrible.. at the 55's, 1st gets 25 less and an entry into the 110K weekly freeroll, 2nd gets 10 less, 3rd gets 10 less can a number cruncher see how the monster stt prize distribution pans out? does it even out or would we be getting raped also? i am guessing these tables are getting raped also since the cash gamers calculated an entry to be worth 25 bucks also. |

Re: MONSTER party stt\'s- how do they pan out?
at every monster SnG, it looks like:
1st place: $25 to monster 2nd place: $15 3rd place: $10 so at a $10+1 SnG, normal payout is 50/30/20. but on monster, it's 25/15/10. that 50%!!! on a 50+5, normal is 250/150/100. monster is 225/135/90. entry is worth $50 since monster is also taking $ from 2nd and 3rd place, but only 1st place gets a freeroll into the weekly $100k. I dont see any reason to play monster. Am i wrong??? |

The only reason yo play monster would be if the games were incredibly soft.

Re: MONSTER party stt\'s- how do they pan out?
They're definately full of awfull players, as are all 1-table qualifiers on party... However, since they usually just reward #1 they're pretty useless since variance is gonna be huge (correct me if I'm making an erronous statement here).

Re: MONSTER party stt\'s- how do they pan out?
The reason to play the monster sngs is to qualify for the free rolls. Monster is good for tournament players. You qualify cheaply and let the ring players build the prize pool

Re: MONSTER party stt\'s- how do they pan out?
Why all the hating on Monsters? From what I can see, they're not raking more - they're just adding 50% (at the $11's) to the Monster prize pool. It's still +EV in the long run, and seems like a decent way to mix things up if you like MTT's as well.
But yea your variance goes WAY up. |
