Re: Small pot KK - A high flop
is that 74 AF correct? or is it .74?
either way. raise, bet the turn, check the river. if 3-bet, ditch the hand immediately against a .74. call down non-heart cards facing a 74 or 7.4 AF. |

Raiser was 23/4.5/74 [/ QUOTE ] Not sure what the 74 means. Is this really his postflop aggression? (I find that impossible!) Should it be 7.4? Or is the read over 74 hands. If the read is over a significant amount of hands, I'd fold. Not much that a 4.5% preflop raiser holds that you are now ahead of on this flop. |

Re: Small pot KK - A high flop
And my thought was easy raise if holding K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], but fold if holding the two black kings (which I did).

Re: Small pot KK - A high flop
Raise the flop. Fold if he shows further aggression in the hand (3betting flop or c/r turn). Bet the turn when checked to, check through the river. Fold to a donked heart on the river. I see too many players autobet flops w/ a flush draw not to test this out with a raise. Also, Xmas is right, this pot is not small there are already 8.5sbs when the action gets to you. I think this makes just folding pretty bad.

Apologies if this belongs in the beginners forum, but what's standard here? [/ QUOTE ] No apologies, 3/6 hands belong in this forum. This is a classic example of being WA/WB (Way ahead/way behind). You are either ahead with him drawing to ~2 outs or you are behind and drawing to ~2 outs. The correct line here is to call down and bet if checked to (unless your opponent is tricky), and it's not even close. Haupt_234 |

Re: Small pot KK - A high flop
I disagree with everyone.
While you didn't list an AF, there tends to be a direct correlation between low PF raise percentage and low AF (not always the case of course, but most of the time). I fold that to that flop bet assuming his AF is indeed low. How often are you really ahead here? IMHO, folding > calling > raising. If you've seen him get tricky, then sure, call him down. Don't raise tho: no need to get him to lay a hand like QQ down. You can certainly pick better spots than this one to make your money. |
