Default 2/4 6max AK sooted

My NL game needs some work. I've been a limit player for years that has dabbled in NL but I'm branching out recently.

I have AK clubs (400 stack) in the BB. One limper, button (350 stack) pots it for 18. I repot to 58. Limper folds, button makes it 250 or so.

What to do? I think I see AA or KK here a lot. No reads. Thanks.

Leon

I often flat call with AK OOP.

That said, you've got to fold here. He's not doing this with anything you're ahead of, so you're either a coinflip or a serious dog (and it'll take your whole stack to find out which).

I enjoyed the disconnect comment here a lot. What I would say is that with one limper, if I was playing loose and aggressive at the time, I would make that exact same play as the button with any two better cards that are better than average (I think this is J9o?).

He could well have AA or KK, but it is unlikely, he really could have anything (depending on your notes on him), and with AKs in my hand as soon as he makes that 18 bet I want all my chips in the pot.

It works perfectly, the moment he bets that 250 I'm all in. You show strength so if he had a big stack he could fold and you pick it up there. Or you are likely to be fav, you are dog to the two mentioned hands, and you are just less than 50:50 against pockets, but gd fav against AQ-A2 which is a likely hand he is playing with.

The person you worry about here is the limper, if he limps then reraises this is power play and represents AA or KK. Of course he could be doing exactly that but you can have an idea of how likely he is to do that by watching him play.

Opinions appreciated.

Dan.
