Default Bankroll Requirements for 20-40 and 40-80

Any thoughts on how much of a bankroll a player needs to play 20-40 or 40-80 full-time? How about as a part-time job? (i.e. work a regular job Mon - Wed and play poker Thurs - Sat)

Yeah, 500bb is a good ballpark. Never hurts to have a little more.

You can play a little lighter if you are willing to move down.

If you are good and the game is soft, 300 BB is plenty.

My advice is to play as high as you are comfortable and move back down if you fall below 150 BB.

500 is the new 300, soon 1000 will be the new 500. i like 500, but like sackup said, it never hurts to have more.

imo 300 is not nearly enough for 20/40 and 40/80, as these games play more aggressive than the levels just below them.

So what you're saying is that games are getting harder and harder. Great...

I'd say move down when you fall to what would be 300-500BB for the next lower limit.

Playing live you should be ok with 250-300BB but online you need 1000-1200BB...

what is your reason for this? i know when you play live you focus more on the game, only play 1 table, and the players are worse... but that does not allow a 800 difference in bb.

250bb is no way enough, for any poker.

oh and also, the games are not getting hard, we are just starting to understand that there is a lot more variance than expected over 1-2million hands.
