Default General Question Re Middle Suited Aces in EP

I know that this depends on the game (loose or tight), but what is the current thought for playing A9s and A8s in EP. I used to auto fold these, but lately, I have started open limping with them. This is against my normal gut as I rarely open limp with anything (EP or not), but I have found myself occasionally doing this. Is this terrible?

depends on the game, and depends on how well you play them postflop. if the game is loose and you play well, by all means play them.

loose passive games, open limp

tight passive game where you havent raised in a while, open raise

tight aggressive game, fold/raise depending on your recent actions. i.e. opponents will suspect you are loosening raising req's if you've open raised a few recently.

etc.
