Default Bummed about new Borgata poker rates

The old room rates were simple: $39 Sun-Thurs with 8 hours of play, $129 Fri or Sat. Had tons of fun the one time I did this - brought 5 friends up, couple girls couple guys, was done playing by 8 and we all just got trashed in the Borgata all night. Friends gambled and spent away tons of money on stupid games and beer/drinks.

Now I just called today, and the manager told me I needed to play $75-150 or higher to get a room on Fri or Sat, and that I "needed to seriously bump up my hours" in order to be "offered a room rate" for Sun-Thurs, which now costs $100. I've played 5 full sessions of $1/2 NL and played in a Borgata Open event this month, and I can't even get offered a $100 weekday room.

I can understand if the poker block of rooms is at 100% capacity, but I just don't see how that is considering right before the new room came out and I booked a Thurs night room rate, I had 6 different rooms to choose from at the front desk the morning of.

I'm depressed. Will this system change at all in the Fall?

Did they say whether this change was year-round or just during the summer?

The Trop has a decent poker rate, though they also bump it up in the summer.

Yeah the old days of cheap rooms at the Borgata seem to be over. On another note, has anything changed with their comp point system? It seems to me that the comp dollars are staying on my card for less than a month these days. They are supposed to last for 90 days right? No chance that is happening for me.

IMO this is a bit exaggerated especially if you're so concerned about cost. how good do you need a bed, shower and a crapper to be when you're on a gambling/poker spree? does it matter if you have fine modern art hanging on the walls and the lobby?

spacewise, you're not getting twice as much at the borg vs. absecon or any decent boardwalk property. either come to terms with how much you are actually worth to the casino, or show some more money. don't whine about losing your free ride.

ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz Excuse me if I fall asleep, upon reading your "complaint" / dilemma. A long time ago in Vegas, I stayed at the same joint for six days. That happened twice. Each time when I checked out, my bill was almost all zeroes. I think they charged me for phone calls. The third time, I was my usual gambooling self. Same routine. However, for some reason, the night before I was to check out, I dropped some cash in the joint next door. Upon check-out the next day, they charged me for every night of my stay. Tracking players ain't what it used to be...IT'S NOW A DAMN SCIENCE.

I think that is your problem. My understanding from the poker room staff is that they want to reserve the poker room rate for serious poker players. You don't say what a "full session" is.

I imagine things will loosen up in the fall.
