No, not too weak. You're OOP, and Villian's most likely holding is an overpair or AK/AQs. All of these have you beaten and unable to call a turn bet getting only 4.5 to 1. Nice hand.

no backdoor draws + reverse implied ods of having a weaker ace + chance of being dominated already --> fold flop.

So a few orbits later, you have a similar hand and this same guy has been 3 betting you liberally. You have been folding on the flop or turn every time. How do you combat this without hitting a hand? Turn checkraise? Flop donk? Call down with ace high?

Turn checkraise? Flop donk? Call down with ace high? [/ QUOTE ] Light 3 betting includes hands like 66-99+ and right now you are not beating any pair. I likes Miles suggestion I tend to start capping lighter if I feel this is happenning and take back the initiative. Nothing wrong with a semibluff turn checkraise either. Remember you make most of your money from bad players so unless he is being ridiculous (and sometimes they are) pick your spots. If you don't play pure fit or fold here this shouldn't be too profitable for him. I have met these types who are really overagressive but read you as so predicatble that if they get c/r on the flop or turn and there is an overcard to their pair they will drop. If this is the case let him value bet you to the river when you have an overpair and then c/r his ass. Overaggression is best penalized by slowpalying TPTK and then value raising him on the river. |

Fold flop, if was 3-betting light, he hit a lot of the A-x hands, and youre drawing near dead to middle pairs. If he was 3-bettnig proper, you're beat like all the time. Most tags with thsoe stats dont get out of line.
