Default .5/1 Flopped a set

In general, the game seemed soft, but it was kind of early on. No real reads on Villian, but Button seemed solid. Turn made my decision tough. Your thoughts?

You can't play the turn like this. First of all, you definitely have the equity to lead out. Getting raised isn't that bad in this scenario either because we'll have a ton of outs.

Since you didn't bet, you're getting 10:1 with what looks like 11 super clean outs, so you need just over 3:1. so awful fold.

Are you serious about that? Even if you are behind on the turn you have 10 outs to a boat or better. I can't think of a single board on which I'd fold a set on the turn.

Why do you even check? I bet here all day, if I get raised I call down.

Edit: And no, the decision isn't tough. It's automatic.

Um, so you're 92% sure he has QQ? Don't forget about your 10 riverboat/quads outs if you are worried about a straight.

A set is generally strong enough to show down for one bet on the river, so I'd call there too.

You should essentially never fold a set on the turn, ever. You have 10 outs to a boat or quads when you're behind.

To even fold a set on the river you need to be very, very sure.

On this hand, I'm not even sure why you think you're behind. What makes you think one of them has a 9? What hands for villain would raise the flop that have a 9 in them?

Lead the turn and call down if raised. Set is a very strong hand, even if someone has a 9, if you have a lot of outs, the pot is big and you will win more than you will lose.

I learned my lesson. I knew it was a strong hand, but for some reason my mind was telling me I was beat. Stupid play on my part.

It was just a gut feeling.

The more I look at this play now, the more I realize that it was silly. I just needed you guys to kick some sense into me. Thank you.

Folding the turn is very bad as you easily have the odds to draw to a full house. If you feel like being really wimpy you can c/c from the turn down. It's a scary board but there are tons of hands villain will raise you on the flop that don't contain a 9. Personally I'm betting the turn and calling down if raised and UI on river.

Since I don't expect an UTG limp or a flop donk with a 9, if we bet the turn and villian raises again, is a 3bet out of the question?
