Re: MGM Detroit
There's probably others who'd know more details, but from what I hear, MGM Grand Detroit will not have a poker room until the new casino is built. This would be a change of pace from earlier rumors that they were going to go 100% machines. (That may have been for the temporary casino only though)

Re: MGM Detroit
I hear that they are to open the card room sometime next year at its current location. Apparently the dealers will be able to keep their own tips like in Vegas so a lot of dealers around here are excited about it. I also hear that the MCC cardroom is going to relocate to a separate location with the VIP room near the casino rom a credible source.

Re: MGM Detroit
I also understand that the MCC card room might change locations. However, w/ the huge rake and the huge time charge for NL why would anyone play there??? Oh yeah 'cuz it's the best game around. That's just sick. I spent a month in Vegas and now I have to go back to this bs in Detroit until I move there permantly. Incidentally if anyone would like to rent a house near royal oak please pm me.
A friend of mine who was in Vegas the same time told me that a Vegas casino tried to change their $1-2Nl game ($500max buyin-not much action) to a $3/halfhour time charge and the people threw a fit. OH how nice it would be to have something like that around there. I also hear that MGM might open by year's end. |
