Default hi i\'m a nl noob QQ nl100

hi
i have no clue what i'm doing because i usually play limit games. is this routine/bad/good?

this is a .5/1 blinds game with max buyin of $100
SB ($46.50)

UTG ($40.50)
UTG+1 ($79.30)
MP1 ($59.45)
MP2 ($81.50)
HJ ($95.40) <--- hero
CO (89.45)
Button ($240.80)

Hero is hijack with Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

folded to MP2 who raises to $2.75, Hero raises to $10, CO calls $10, blinds fold, MP2 folds.

FLOP ($24) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Hero bets $24. CO calls $24.

Turn ($72 in pot) 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I would say the push is good. Hopefully the discourages the flush or st8 draws or AK. The lack of a reraise pf or after the flop leads me to believe that CO does not have an overpair. Two pair should hopefully be out of the question because of the two pf raies.

With that board texture, and previous play, I'm pushing it as well.

he's a poor player at limit 5/10 and 10/20. never played nl with him before and he hasn't done anything noticeable at this table since he sat down 2 orbits ago.

CO plays 10/20 limit and is playing 100NL now?

Isn't that weird? Maybe not.

Depends on your read. If you put him on a flush/straight draw, a push is the the right move. If you put him on lower pocket pair and he's just calling you down its better to value bet with a half pot bet rather than force him out with a push. With only a couple of outs, calling a 1/2 pot bet is still -EV for him. If he folds, great. But if he calls both turn and river you don't mind because both calls are +EV for you. If he is on a flush/sraight draw and calls a 1/2 pot bet on turn, the pot is now $144 and and he's getting +EV to call your $36 (making the pot $180) river bet with his flush/straight draw. So, pushing if you think he is on flush/Straight draw is the best move. Bet half pot if you think he's on lower pocket pair.
