Default A very weird spot indeed

I don't really know much about villian. He and MP are talking trash back and forth. What's my plan?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Hero ($147.55)
UTG ($65.98)
MP ($97.60)
CO ($119.30)
Button ($147.58)
SB ($100.97)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, MP calls $1, 1 fold, Button calls $1, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($4) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP checks, Button bets $23, SB folds, Hero...

I just flat call here. If MP and villain are trashtalking to each other MP might just make a play at him. If not I'll bet out on the turn

what are button and MP talking trash about. did one of them lay a bad beat on the other?

id probably slow play this flop to see if MP comes along. maybe hell raise or something?

so long as you have an an aggro bettor here I dont mind slow playing, but do whatever you can to get ur money in. if MP folds then im going to lead the turn into the button.

your only getting a lot out of villian if he has 3x, so play it as if villian has 3x. id checkraise flop

Do you really think that's true? If he's doing this with junk, overbetting so huge on a paired board, don't you think if I call and am weak on the turn there's a decent chance he comes over the top of me? If he's got a 3, he keeps betting. If he's got a J or air, there's a chance he tries to push me out again. Anyone who overbets like this can't be the smartest player alive and see that I have a 3.

I'd call here given the dynamics of the table. With any luck MP decides button is FOS, isn't good enough to realize that your flat-call should set off huge amounts of warning bells and shoves.

For those who say call the overbet: What's the turn plan if I'm HU agst the overbetting villian. Pot would be $50 and we'd have $123 behind.

no hell fire again if he has a 3, MAYBE if he has a j, but if hes as bad as you think he calls a checkraise with both and u have a much bigger pot on turn. what if mp has a 3? you definitly get action from him. if mp has crap he isnt coming along for a bet that big, if button has crap hes checking behind on turn or folding if u bet anyway

If he has 3x, you're stacking him no matter what. If he has trash/bluff raising is bad.

call flop (also MP might so comething crazy) and then check turn.
