Hey everyone,
I was wondering
a) What stakes you play
b) how many tables you play in a typical session
c) how many hands/hours you play in a typical session
d) what is the most tables you have ever played
e) how many hands in your longest session
f) how many hands you think you can play in a session without losing enough edge for it to not be worth it

I am wondering these things because I want to build up(over a long time) to 12 tabling, and want to put in long hours on the weekend, and am wondering if this plan would hurt me, is impossible, will burn me out, etc.

f) i can play for about 6 hours straight 4 tabling before I need a break, then I grab some food and am ready to play for another 6. 10-12 is max though online. Live, i can play a lot longer while maintaing my focus. 24-36

Some very well respected posters once told me that they actually stopped learning the game and stagnated because they put more emphasis on learning how to multi-table over learning the game. The effect this had on them was making more money in the short run, but certainly they lost money in the long run. Just an FYI.

f) how many hands you think you can play in a session without losing enough edge for it to not be worth it <font color="blue"> Assuming complete physical and mental rest before session, I could probably 10 table these bad boys for 10 hours straight, 3 days in a row. I've 8 tabled SNGs for 12 hours a day for 3 days at a time before. I'm sure some mental edge was lost near the end of 12 hours and on the third day. </font>

largely dependent on the person playing. I know some people who dont want to go past 2 tables, I know others who feel comfortable playing 18 and are still improving their game.

a) 50NL
b) 3-4 depending on how the day is going. If I seem to be having a bad day I will play less tables and focus more on reads.
c) 1500-2000/day
d) 8 and I hated it
e) No more than 2000. Burning out is -EV.
f) I usually take breaks every 4 hours. After 3 sessions, my mind is exhausted and needs sleep.

b) 4 (i know i know, but my monitor sucks! getting a new video card soon)
c) id say 200-300, more or less depending on how i feel. this usually takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours.
d) 4
e) like 400
f) i dunno. it really depends on how many tables im playing. if i could play 6 or 8 tables like i wanted to, i could probably play over 1k and still be fine.

my long term goal for hands is 1k per day. any FR players who do this? how long does it usually take you?

to scubachuck: how long does it take you to get 500 hands 8 tabling FR? i would imagine around 45 minutes. you must play short sessions =P
