$20sng (dis)graceful exits
HH convertor is not working for me, apologies for layout.
This is a typical way for me to exit the $20sng's lately. I am still much of a novice, but feel I am at the right sng level. In fact, I don't see any difference in player skill level at the $20's vs the $20's, if anything it is lower? Anyway, its about time I started posting some hands instead of gossiping in the non-poker forums, perhaps you can help me out with my game. I am wondering if I am getting too aggressive in my game. Blinds(30/60) Seat 4 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 1: ( 1400 ) Seat 2: ( 2065 ) Seat 10 1805 ) Seat 8: Hero ( 2200 ) Seat 4: ( 3255 ) Seat 6: ( 2450 ) Seat 7: ( 3141 ) Seat 3: ( 1199 ) Seat 5: Villain ( 2485 ) Trny:26033587 Level:2 Blinds(30/60) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Hero [ Ah Qs ] folds. Hero raises [180]. folds. folds. folds. folds. folds. Villain raises [470]. folds. calls [320]. I have made a couple of EP raises in the preceding rounds and the table has folded around. I read this as taking a minor stand. ** Dealing Flop ** [ Jh, 6h, 7h ] Villain bets [518]. Hero is all-In [1700] Villain calls [1182]. My attempt here to say 'I really do have it, or very close to it' expecting a fold. Of course I'm expecting a fold...! ** Dealing Turn ** [ 9d ] ** Dealing River ** [ Td ] Villain shows [ 3h, 3s ] a pair of threes. Hero shows [ Ah, Qs ] high card ace. Villain wins 4460 chips from the main pot with a pair of threes. Hero finished in ninth place. I don't get there, but does Villain really think his small pair / small flush draw is good? I leave wondering who makes such a call? Then I wonder, am I the one making the bigger mistake with over-aggression? Tx |

Fold to the reraise pf [/ QUOTE ] I know... if I read this as a steal, should I still let it go? Re-raise? Also, given I called, subsequent streets? Thx |

Re: $20sng (dis)graceful exits
Thx - I think some of these plays I've been making are not as close as I thought they were at the time.

1. FOLD PREFLOP, DUH.
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE OTHER PLAYER THINKS. WHEN YOU START APPLYING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME TO THE WAY THEY ARE PLAYING THE GAME YOU WILL BEGIN TO MAKE MISTAKES. YOUR MIND WORKS DIFFERENTLY THAN DOES THEIR MIND. Quote:
