Default What happened to Phil Gordon and Celebrity Poker Showdown?

Why is Phil Hellmuth the host now?

I would guess he just got sick of doing it. He was better than Phil though. Phil seems akward and doesn't seem to have any chemistry with the co-host or even the celebritys.

I have only seen about two episodes with Hellmuth though.

I think Helmuth gives better tourney advice. Gordon was good with the math and very basic strategy but H's advice is more useful imho. Not that I watch the show, but, you know.

Nobody will have chemistry with Dave Foley. He is awful and could not possibly be any less interested in poker.

I cant stand the bloody show. Here in the UK they are going through a phase of showing it every night on one channel. I have no idea which series it is but Phil Gordon is still on there. I switch off in disgust every time its on. I don't recognise any "celebrities" and from a poker or entertainment purpose the show is weak.

Sorry I had to get that off my chest! UK programmers tried the same format with z list celebs also and it died on its feet, was on every channel every night for about a month now its never on...US Version, take a hint!

Nobody will have chemistry with Dave Foley because Dave Foley needs no co-host. He is awesome and could use a few more drinks before each show.

Jennifer Tilly is pretty funny on the show... especially when she lays down on the table and they deal on her back.

Basically it's a spotlight contest for the comedians who try to get as much screen-time as possible, with really very little poker value.

Phil Gordon wanted to commentate some real poker, and not celebrities who don't know how to play, I remember reading somewhere.
