Default (NL$2 FR) Interesting TP hand in an un-limped pot

no reads, first hand at the table. what do you guys think of this hand? should i have checked the turn/called the river? i'm kind of lost as to villain's holdings here, but i assume he beats ATo

ugh - bet the river... villian has not shown any aggression and likely is calling you down with a weaker A.

Interesting to check/call the river though to induce a bluff from a busted flush draw. Definitely don't fold the river.

yeah, betting the river may have worked, but every time i get to the river with top pair with a weak kicker UI it seems like i hesitate, and especially after this board pairs. the overbet on the river made it seem like he was either slowplaying some kind of set or two pair, or he rivered a third nine.

I prefer check/calling to betting the river so we can catch a busted flush draw

Don't post anywhere but CO in a full ring game without a good reason. As in, you sit down and notice everyone throwing their stacks in the middle, then go ahead. Otherwise, it's -EV to post.

NH as played up to the river. You should like the board pairing because you just zoomed ahead of A2 and A4. AJ-AK hands usually raise preflop, so the likelihood that Button has those hands are reduced. Yeah, he might have a 9. You're not going to win every pot on the end here. But, checking here is good to pick off a bluff and I think a call here is +EV.

I don't like limping TP hands anywhere especially EP. Fold or raise, just noticed you posted UTG, why not wait one more hand until BB to post?
