Default Action on the flop w/ Top Pair

I'd like to get some input as to how other people would play this hand. I've been re-reading SSHE lately and want to see if I'm interpreting this correctly....

Opponent Info:
SB: I've played him about 250 hands and his stats are roughly 20/10/4
BB: Dont have a read on him yet

PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 4 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)

The pot is small and it looks by the action in front of you that you're behind (likely to two pair). In a larger pot I cold see a 3-bet, but with this 4SB-er you don't have the right odds on your Q outs, BDFD and BDSD. I think a fold is best here.

Our kicker is decent and we have backdoor draws. I call and re-evaluate.

Raise preflop and hand might play out a little differently.

I fold here alot and then I regret it when BB shows JT.

SB may be betting the flop with something like a straight draw.

However, BB raising suggests that he has at least top pair or better.

You are getting pot odds of about 4.5 to 1 to call, if the SB does not reraise behind you.

I would estimate you to have about 7 outs if you need to improve your hand to win. (say 5 for improving to 2 pair or trips and 2 for your backdoor straight draws).

I would cold call the flop raise (and hope SB does not 3-bet), with the intention of re-evaluating on the turn.

OP didn't provide any read on UTG, but I think a raise is good here pf.

I think a preflop raise here is a good idea. Why not build a pot + give us a free turn opportunity + give us some folding equity?

I would raise pre-flop, call the bet on the flop, but be prepared to fold the turn if my hand dosen't improve.
