Looking for defense/explanation of LAG play
I'm a TAG making about $30/hour at Vegas 1-2 and 2-5 games. I'm grinding out a living, but I see a lot of LAGs out there who seem to be making much more. How do they do it? What makes it work?
Can someone break down their style for me, beginning with preflop play? |

Re: Looking for defense/explanation of LAG play
It's all about creativity and hand reading, also, look up Samo's first ever post- that sums it up pretty good about the theory behind two card poker.

Re: Looking for defense/explanation of LAG play
Thanks. I was struck by his idea of being loose preflop and tight postflop. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Re: Looking for defense/explanation of LAG play
As Sklanksy said in NLTAP, making mistake before the pot or while the pot is small is a minor mistake, but forcing people to make a much larger msitake against you later can ultimately make this mistake more profitable.

Re: Looking for defense/explanation of LAG play
Here's all I will say in elaboration. LAG's are making you think they are looser than they really are, and poker is all about deception.
The rest- just start playing a bunch of hands and find out for yourself. |
