Villian here is a very solid local pro who is waiting for a bigger game. We have only played together once and it was a brief session but I have dealt to him a handful of times and he recognizes me from there. I seem to remember being involved in a lot of pots during that last session, which would likely affirm my dealer image.
I open raise AsQs in the CO, Button 3-bets, loose BB calls, I call. Flop: Ah Ad Kh I bet, Button calls, BB folds. Turn: non heart blank I bet, Button raises, I 3-bet. Thoughts? |

I cap this preflop.

I think your play until that point is fine. You were on a possible steal, which villain almost certainly realises, and he may just be testing you with his turn raise, with a flush draw, a king, or a medium pair.
If he re-raises the turn, though, I'd start to fear AK or KK and would, in any event, probably b/c the river. |

I would cap this preflop (assuming 4bets is the cap) and keep firing on the flop with a bet and a 3bet if I get raised. If my opponent(s) remain aggressive I go in check/call mode from there. If not I keep betting.
As this one played out, I would just call the turn raise and bet out on the river. If you 3bet and your opponent has you beat, you will lose 5 bets on the big streets. If he has a worse ace you will win 4. However, if you bet/call, bet/call, you will lose only 4 big street bets when you are behind, but you will win 4bets if he has a hand like AJ (because he'll raise on the river), and win 3 against a hand like A7s. Just my opinion... |
