flopped nut straight on rainbow board; hows my line?
Live 3/6 game
I'm in sb with JTo with about 5-6 people who limped in with me (this casino is way loose). I complete. Flop comes KQ9 rainbow. Being first to act and lots of loose callers behind me I bet out: loose caller calls, sort of aggressive player raises, everyone folds to me. I call, loose player calls. Turn is A, i donk... How's my line so far my thoughts in white With a loose caller between us my thinking is a reraise will knock him out and show the aggressive player that I have a great hand. A call here would allow me to donk and potentially trap the loose guy for another bet while I hope the aggressive player raises. While the aggressive player likes to bet a lot with weak hands on the flop I haven't seen him raise that much so he might have something pretty solid here. The A on the turn is perfect because he might think I just hit an ace(these players aren't that bright so maybe he thinks I was fishing to improve to a pair of aces. If he has two-pair he might raise me on the turn with the loose player in between or better yet if he has a set he might conclude that he's still ahead and do the same. I think given the aggressive players nature trying to trap the loose player made sense. |

I fastplay straights almost always, especially on this board when it's not given loose guy will fold 2 back to him. I guess the stop & go isn't bad if you think it will entice aggro guy to raise again; but you have to bet any turn card not just the Ace.

Hastings 1L + live 3/6 = Lucky Chances?
[ QUOTE ] With a loose caller between us my thinking is a reraise will knock him out [/ QUOTE ] Do you see that this makes no sense at all? Against certain opponents, i really like smooth calling the flop and then bet/3betting the turn (i learned this line from 2+2er shant), as you have done here. The A is either a great card or an awful card for this move. |

Re: flopped nut straight on rainbow board; hows my line?
I'd play them fast. Period. The typical, loose 3-6 game, you'd really be suprised at #1) how many will cold-call raises and 3-bets, 2) will continue to call you all the way to the river, 3) how dumb these players can be - your thinking is porbably light-years beyond them and they don't usually think very much beyond their own cards, relying more upon luck than skill. An ace, IMO, either keeps the action going or kills it completely, so just keep pumping the chips in and get the most out of your fortunate flop.

I cap the flop. What are you concerned about? Also, you send 2-bets to the loose caller...make him make a bad call if he's going to call.
I lead the turn... |

Jesus Christ, jam that sumbitch. Live 3/6 makes online nano-limits look like the gameplay in "High Stakes Poker." Nobody's folding.
