Default Top pair facing aggression 1/2

Hi All...

Just started playing 6 max yesterday...loving it so far even though I got my ass kicked!

Villian in this hand is 33/20/6.4 over 180 hands.

Btw, what are considered TAG stats at 6max? Ive noticed my vpip is a fair bit higher than full ring.

From the flop 3-bet onwards my plan would have been to check/call the turn, and donk the river, calling a raise. But I hate that 8, so I check-call.

Here's a stats link for you:

against this villain i probably cap the flop and lead the turn. he is probably 3-betting a lot of stuff and with an AF of 6.4, he must overplay many hands.

If his aggression was lower what would you think of bet fold on the turn?

- Looks fine as played. Against a normal opponent, any further aggression on you're part would be speculative spewing.

- This Villain is so postflop aggressive that you might be able to value bet/raise/checkraise somewhere else but I can't tell that for sure from here.

Agree 6.4 AF is silly and he's overplaying... but he's also not calling down a lot (AF is bet+raise/call so it can be high because he's folding a lot as well as because he's betting a lot). If I lead and I'm ahead then with this aggression he likely folds, and if I lead and I'm behind he likely raises. I prefer playing passive for as long as possible.

you're right that AF doesn't tell the whole story. but OP should know after 180 hands whether villain has been folding a lot. i would look at his fold to flop bet and fold to turn bet stats for more info.
