live 5-10 deep: flop a flush; now what?
uncapped 5-10 club game, hero has about 2.5k, opponents in this hand cover. 8-handed, utg limps, lp limper, sb completes. hero raises 50 more with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], all 3 others call. flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] sb leads for 200, hero raises to 600, sb calls out of turn. he's told that there are players yet to act, and pulls back his 400; utg thinks for awhile and coldcalls 600, lp limper folds, sb calls. reads: sb is a donk, will chase draws on long odds, etc. utg, however, is a generally tight player who doesn't get out of line much. he's also a 2+2er fwiw. turn T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb checks, hero has a little more than 1.8k left. do what? |

utg thinks for awhile and coldcalls 600 [/ QUOTE ] Nothing that will call hero's push on that turn. |

Re: live 5-10 deep: flop a flush; now what?
You aren't getting off this hand. If somebody has a higher flush you're going to pay it off. That being said, assume the sb is drawing to a higher flush and the other player has aces up. I don't think you need to push. Bet half pot and drag them along. Neither has the right odds to call against a flush and you're more likely to get one of them (possibly the sb) to commit their stack. Accept a certain level of risk to maximize your gains with the right odds.

Re: live 5-10 deep: flop a flush; now what?
Why do people keep saying tight UTG probably has aces up? He limped UTG, so I wouldn't consider A2 or A4 to be very likely.
That being said, I don't think you need to worry too much about what he has. He limped UTG, so unless he does that with a hand like Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], I can't see how he has you beat. Go all-in. If he calls, it is more likely he has a set than a flush (due to the fact he limped UTG and is considered tight). If he has a hand like A Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], then you don't want him sticking around cheap either. All-in is about the pot, so just push. If the donkey has a flush, or if tight UTG limped with suited cards, then you gotta pay him off. |
