Default Harrah\'s Announces WSOP Circuit Event Schedule

Harrah’s website will be giving more details soon. Being from Chicago it’s great to see Caesars Indiana now has two dates. Last October the first event set a record for the most players in a circuit event.

The schedule for the WSOP Circuit follows:

• Sept. 7-17, 2006, Harrah’s Tahoe
• Sept. 25-Oct. 4, 2006, Grand Tunica
• Oct. 19-Nov. 2, 2006, Caesars Indiana
• Dec. 9-19, 2006, Harrah’s Atlantic City
• Jan. 8-17, 2007, Grand Tunica
• Jan. 29-Feb. 7, 2007, Horseshoe Council Bluffs
• Feb. 11-21, 2007, Harrah’s Rincon
• Mar. 5-14, 2007, Caesars Atlantic City
• Mar. 26-Apr. 4, 2007, Caesars Indiana
• Apr. 23-May 2, 2007, Caesars Las Vegas
• May 14-23, 2007, Harrah’s New Orleans

Only one Vegas event. And it overlaps the WPT championship at Bellagio which is 4/21 to 4/27. Brilliant.

Isn't the point of the Circuit to have events outside of Vegas? Vegas already gets more than six weeks of the WSOP.

I thought the point was to hold big poker tournaments at properties owned by Harrahs. Therefore, I'm surprised we aren't seeing events at Harrahs, Bally's/Paris, and the Rio.

That overlap is probably a good thing for circuit attendence. As the circuit starts after 2 days of the WPT championships are over, so people who get knocked out of the WPT championship in the first 2 days can play the circuit instead.

Overlap in this case is good. Also, Harrah's is promoting that the winner of each Circuit championship gets a seat at the ME for next year. It seems as if they are positioning themselves to have the circuit events directly take on the WPT. If the poker media haven't broken Oliver's hands yet maybe he can tell us about possible plans for TV coverage of the circuit events. If not ESPN, who?

That's swell. You have leave a metropolitan area of seven million people, and drive four hours, to the middle of nowhere to play in a "Circuit" event.

Please sir, I live in Omaha and am ecstatic that there is an event 30 minutes away at Horseshoe-Council Bluffs. Althought our metropolitan area isn't quite 1 million, it's darn close .

I am excited for the one in Council Bluffs - I am sure a lot of people from Kansas City will drive up for it

Its too bad they cant do one at the Harrah's in Kansas City - stupid Missouri laws only letting people buy $500 in chips every two hours...

Now you have added your two cents, perhaps some of those Chicago area poker players will consider a drive of just two more hours and they could play a "circuit" in Council Bluffs. (5+ hours to Caesar's Indiana (Louisville Ky) (7.5 hours to Council Bluffs Ia.)
