Default Deja Vu

same hand on similar board vs the same opponent in the same session at the same table.

BB is 29/20 tag over 50 hands.

notes i have on him are: "generally very aggressive. he open raise 84s in SB vs me. i open raise ATo in CO, BT CC, he 3b JTo in BB!! 9xxsAx, he bet i CA with BDFD As, BT fold, he bluff turn and river! i open raise KQo in SB, he 3b 55 in BB, i CAP, AQ8sTA, he R flop! and bet turn, CH river."

how should i handle the turn check in the second hand?

how can you classify him as a tag if he open raises SB with 8-4s and 3-bets out of position with JTo...

and in response, i am in favor of a check as well.

thanks for the replies. I did check the turn in the second hand because it I thought it looked like a hand that wanted to get to showdown.

here's the rest of the hand for the mildly interested:

The first hand is contingent on if he's willing to fold postflop with any piece of the board. Many aren't so I think the turn raise is spew unless you find him loose aggro pre and weak tight post...it exists, but not hugely common (they are great opponents though). Also, since you don't have an ace and he could CR the flop with anything, he very well could have one himself. The board is pretty ragged also - I don't think he folds a good jack or better. I'd fold.

On hand 2, just check. He's checking with the intention of calling or raising. Be done with it.

Jeff

I'd fold the turn in hand 1 and fold the flop in hand 2. If I got to the turn in hand 2 I'd check behind.

regarding the turn raise in the first hand, i thought he might fold a pair of 3's or 6', but i also thought he just might not have anything at all (or a weak straight draw). at the time it just "felt" right and it was an easy raise for me. i understand that when hand history is viewed dry, it looks like a spew. i certainly don't do this as SOP.
