trip report 7/2 - 7/5..2/4 limit at flamingo and some other fun stuff

well I didn't get to play the caesar's tourney which was top 2 on my list for this trip but 12:00 is kinda early when your up till 5:30 every morning [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]...so the wife, her sister, sisters tight donk boyfriend and myself leave michigan at 7:00 am sunday morning flying allegiant air out of lansing. actually not a bad flight and dare i say comfortable considering the flight was $200 round trip from michigan. they have a little drawing mid-flight where everyone puts a dollar in a trash bag with your seat number on your dollar and they pick one for a winner take all prize. they announce "everyone in row c put your hand up". sweet that is me, my 1 in 150 no chance just went down to a miracle 1 in 30 chance. "alright everyone in row c, you can put your hand down, better luck in vegas" RIGGED!!!!! some old bagel ends up winning it and we all know where that money is going, penny slots!! we touch down and grab a cab to the flamingo, we have about 5 bags between the four of us and they barely make it into the back of the van. the sisters tight donk boyfriend now know as (STDBF) says he'll get the cab there if we get the cab on the way back to the airport, we all agree. taxi fare is $13.20, STDBF gives the guy a $20 and asks for $5 back. taxi says "that is a dollar eighty tip?". STDBF says "yeah you should have went the back way instead of the strip" (side note: wife's sister, STDBF's girlfriend has never been to vegas and mentioned she would like to see the strip as soon as possible as we enter the cab)... oh boy this is not going to work hanging with this guy. wife and I have a lot of friends that waitress and bartend. she nudges me and I obliged with ten bucks and a "sorry" to the taxi.
So the wife and i go to meet the other couple that is here with us for lunch. sister in law and STDBF say they are going to the sportsbook to lay down some cash. right on, check you tight asses later. have lunch at some cafe in luxor, it's alright but we are starving so it works.
we all meet at O'sheas before dinner at margaritaville for some cheap drinks and to get in the gambooling mood, wife finally realizes what i've been telling her for the past two months, "she isn't going to have as much fun in vegas being 4 months pregnant as she is used to" i'm right but she actaully does have as much fun as a prego can have in vegas. Margaritaville starts off with a jagerbomb for $40.00 bucks for the five of us, STDBF says " i told you guys we should have done shots at o'sheas"..other couple and I say we will pay for them and he shuts up i had already mentioned the STDBF to them...dinner is good and there are some Miller Lite chicks walking around giving out bottle openers, evryone gets one, yeah!!!..they are kinda skanky and i make a note to tell the pregnant wife that they are kinda skank like and have some butter faces.. they come over and ask what we are drinking and i tell them i was having a bud light and they start harassing me a little, i tell them they were out of miller so i had to drink this crap, i actually had a new castle but they don't know the difference and i don't feel like explaining it...they smile and give me a miller lite and a t-shirt, wife says "you sure got a way with the skanks don't ya" i smile, thinking, yes i sure do. STDBF comes back and sees the shirt and free beer and asks what the hell happenned why didn't he get one. wife says "well you have to flirt with the skanks to get that stuff" whatever!! so we are all pretty much done eating and we all have a little left and on our plates (can you see where this is going) STDBF says he will eat it all, he doesn't want it to go to waste... he seriously does eat it all too!!wow this is getting embarrassing. we all cash out and go back to o'sheas for a couple more. now it is finally time to gambool. other couple and wife go try to strike it rich on let it ride at the flamingo..siter-in-law and STDBF go to check on his sports bets at the bellagio sports book because you get free drinks there if you bet on games there, he is down 0-3 right now on his baseball bets and is pissed but has 2 more games to go, i tell him that they are locks but he says don't jinx me buy saying they are locks. he says if he wins those two he will only be down 10 bucks. wow, so he threw down 10 bucks a game so he could suck down free drinks at bellagio for awhile. later i find out that he wants to go to bed at midnight because he ate to much at dinner and was pissed that he lost all five baseball bets, two were my fault he would tell me monday morning and tilted another $80 away on roulette. probably doesn't want to waste a bedroom he payed for either [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
finally, some poker..i get seated about 11:00 p.m. for a 2/4 game and take a look around the table. first impression is possibly 3 other good players. the room is actually packed, later i find out that this is kinda rare but with the WSOP going on they get pretty busy. so after about 10 hands it is clear the lady to my left and a younger asian kid across the table from me are the only ones who have a clue. the kid and i nod back and forth throughtout the night at how bad everyone is playing and laugh it up most of the hands we aren't in at showdown because, well because it's funny what they are showing down. it's like none of them want to show either at showdown, boy do i hate that, they all just sit there waiting for someone to show them they are beat, it's getting annoying and finally one of the dealers says "first one to show wins" as i'm taking a sip of a captain and coke and about choke myself. about an hour in, i have played four hands up to this point and raise utg with 66, get eight callers, yep the lady next to me and the kid folded. flop of k36 rainbow, i bet and get called in six places, turn is an ace and i bet out again two calls and then a raise, the two blinds fold and i re-raise and the other two cold call for two more, raiser just calls. here we go to the river : 3 for a board of K36-A-3 i bet out, fold, fold, raise, no f-ing way he has a bigger boat!!! but i puss out and just call...he shows K3 offsuit for threes full of kings..phew sixes full of threes holds up for about $100 and the dealer says thanks as i throw him a nice tip. wow, this is gonna be easy!!!! it took a little bit but they just won't stop calling once they start. wife comes over to play at about midnight, a few hands after the above hand and gets seated at my table, and looks over asks "how much did you buy in for" [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] the lady on my left and the kid across start laughing...i say "i'll tell you in a minute, i need a b-room break anyway"...she can't believe it when i tell her there are only 2 other people for her to worry about, the lady that was laughiong on my left and the kid seated right next to her that was laughing. well and me of course. i say remember when we played .25/.50 on party a few years ago, well it's like that but worse [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]...she leaves after a few hours at 2:45 up 20 but feeling like she was down after all the rivers she took from the bunch. i tell her she played it right but that is what happens sometimes at low limit in vegas. she accepts that and goes up to bed. i stay till 5:30 and pretty much have the same luck she does the last two hours and leave up $83 for 6 1/2 hours worth of play, not to mention as many captain and cokes as i could drink, maybe that played a part in my late night variance too!!! the dealers were all pretty good and only saw one flipped over card while dealing, some had some personality and made it fun but they diffently did there job. Tang has to be one of the fastest dealers around and kept all the lag-tards moving... i also personally liked jerry and eric but i think that was because they have the same sense of humor as i do. also because they both told me i was a good player, so bonus points for them or bonus tips if that was the motive.....i would love to share more but i have to run right now, i didn't realize it would take so long to write this....i guess give it a slam it or jam it vote...jam it votes will mean you want more, and trust me STDBF has lots more to offer and i have a few decent hands left at the flamingo still...slam it votes will be like telling me to STFU and i won't bore you anymore.
