Default 18 bets on the river?!

6-12 LHE Lucky Chances

I can't remember the preflop action perfectly. I apologize. It was full ring. I was in the BB w/ 6h 4h and MP+1 made it two bets to go. everyone calls of course, as do I, and it is 6 to the flop which comes . . .

3s 5s Kh
Checks to UTG who bets. MP+1 two bets. SB calls. I call. Four way now.

Turn: 10h. SB bets out. I raise. UTG calls. MP+1 three bets. SB folds. I call. UTG folds. Heads up now.

River 7c. I bet out. He raises me. This goes on 18 times. He asked if we could just put it in, but the dealer said no. You have to go bet by bet "b/c that is procedure". We got to eighteen and he had like only 70ish left behind before he just flat called me w/ top set.

I am a no limit player and only play 9-18 and 6-12 while I wait for a seat. Usually very conservatively. Is 18 betting w/ the second nuts normal live? What a douche.

if you guys say it's not the norm than I believe you. I'm kind of ashamed to say I made almost twice as much last night playing 6-12 and 9-18 than 1-1-2, before I sat at the 2-3-5. especially since i don't know how to play limit properly. Before this sounds more braggy than i meant it to, i got felted once and then lost half another buy in 3 days ago inside of 3 hours at the 9-18 table, b/c Lucky Chances usually only has one going. The table changes dramatically quickly and playing w/ late night drunks is very different than playing w/ the regular rounders. They whooped my ass. You know how hard it is to walk away from a table w/ half of your second rack and sit at a waiting table in view of the table you left? Took every bit of discipline in my body not to run back to the table and try to hang.

no no no. ur right. it's 200 max bet at LC. i just say no limit b/c that's primarily what i play, if not in legitimate establishments all the time. artichoke's got grandfathered in before some law got passed and is a true no limit as is cache creek casino b/c they are indian gaming and a sovereign nation above state legislation.
