Default Pocket Queens out of position (SNG)

Third hand of a 18 person SNG. In the small blind with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Blinds are 15-30. Chip leader in LP raises to 90. The next player calls and so does the button. I call as does the BB and UTG player. 6 players to the flop and the pot has ~540. Flop is 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet 270 and UTG calls. Chip leader raises to 780 and the next player goes all in for 1,365. Button folds and I? Fold or go all in as well?

I see it a hold em question as much as a SNG question.

If you had raised before the flop, you might have chased out small-to-middle pairs, and would have a better idea where you stood post flop.

Too many possible hands for chip leader, but it's very likely he tripped up on the flop. Or, he has an overpair to the board, but you don't know if he has an overpair to your hand. There's no way to get that information now, but it doesn't matter b/c of the all-in. One of the two isn't worried that you or the other player may have trips. The only bet that may have been on the come was yours (and it wasn't).

I say fold, and next time try to isolate with your premium pairs.

Easy fold.

Generally if you are in the first couple rounds of a SnG you should never go broke postflop with just one pair...

Easy fold in genreal, might depend on the buy-in. At even the lowest buy-in level, I would expect you to see a set or two pair at worst.
Regards,
Carl

P.S. You might get some more feedback by posting this in the MTT forum

Five-Star,
When posting one specific hand for feedback, you will generally get better repsponses if you post it in the forum for that game (e.g., tournament forum in this case). This forum is typically used for discussions of a more general nature than a specific decision in a specific game.

If the all-in is conservative, fold to his set of trips. If the all-in is loose and aggressive, call. Loose and aggressive would tend to have pocket 10's on up.

On pocket queens, you should have bet closer to 4-5 the blinds to clear the rift raft off the table (smaller pockets).

You're asking the wrong question. Re-raise pre-flop.
