Default pokertracker / SNGPT

I know that these programs are great. I also know that most winning players have/use them.

I'm just curious if there are any SNG winning players out there that don't use these programs or similar ones? If you don't use them, is it because you can beat the game without them? Or is it because you feel that you are a good player till the point that you don't need "extra help"?

Summary: For winning players, do you think that anyone can beat the game without such software, or is it absolutely necessary to use these programs to beat the game?

Elaborate.

You need pokertracker for taxes, or something like that. You can learn to beat these withing sngpt, but I think it's way +EV to get it and look at it for awhile.

Get sngpt for sure if you like money and I don't think poker tracker is needed but I could be wrong. PT can help you track your results but speadsheet can also. The replayer is nice I guess. I brought PT but didn't set it up yet. Can someone explain to me how useful is PT in sng? I seem to do fine without it.

Spreadsheets = Manual Entry

PokerTracker = Automatic Entry

That's worth the $55 alone all by itself.

You can track results and do ICM calcs by hand. The question is do you want to spend a bunch of time doing that or spend your time letting software do it for you, allowing you to play more poker? Seems like a pretty easy question for me and both programs are pretty cheap when you think of it like that.

I downloaded the trial version of pokertracker. However, I can't see my full results such as tourneys played, money won/lost, etc? Is is because it's the trial version or I am just not getting it?
