Trip 8s under fire
PLO $0.25BB 5max. Effective stacks of $18. Viallian has just sat down and I've never seen him before in my life so no reads. I'm in the Big Blind with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Everyone limps and sees a flop of:
8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet $1, 1 fold, villain raises to $2, I call. Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, Villian bets $3, I call (since any of by sidecards would give me a bigger boat than any already on the board) River 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I check, Villiam bets $11, I fold. This is symptomatic of a lot of situations where a paired board gives you random trips, which I often struggle with. Is there a better line than the one I took or is this just a situation without a good way to play it? |

Re: Trip 8s under fire
That's how I'd do it.
