Lol, good stuff. What is it about referees and the theatrical? I once worked as an umpire in a kid's football league with this guy who refereed professionally. We went to college together, and my buddies always suspected he was gay. I'm not sure, but when he got on that field, he treated it as if it were [censored] broadway.
Not to mention the gayness of his penalties. For instance, one time he threw three flags in a row at a kid for swearing three times. Who gives a [censored]? The team got penalized 45 yards! I mean, this was in a bad neighborhood, and swearing is natural to these kids. The fathers obviously had no scruples about it either, since one of them threatened to shoot us after the game (honestly). You should have seen us trot off the field after the last whistle.

He could just be Italian. Even the straightest Italians always seem gay to me. See: Valentino Rossi.
 To elaborate: I think that behaviour and appearance that we see as feminine, they see as quite manly...
