Basically I want to look scared of the Ace. I'm not really worried about a 4 b/c I can't see anyone leading into me on a gutshot with an A on the board (should I not think this way)?

I push the river b/c I think Villian's range consists of weaker A's that I don't want to cause him to fold on the flop. I think he'll call with most Aces given the way I played the hand.

I don't think he has a set, so I'm not putting that in his range.

However, I do think the turn check is fine. I can definitely see this causing villain to call a bet on the end with a mid pair.

This to me looks very much scared QQ/JJ until the river. It's risky but I think that this board is safe enough to try this move with. So far so good.

On the river Villain bets a rather awckward amount for you imo, in that he almost commits himself to calling your push. You could ask yourself why he would do that.

I'd say he can't be expecting a push here very often and given the size of his bet he might just reluctantly call your all in with a weaker holding than your top pair.

I can't really say whether he'd do that often enough to make a push better than a call on the river. My guess he won't be doing this often though, because given the texture of the board I'd be thinking "AA?" on the river.

Well it seems that my line is fine. Betting the turn isn't important unless it gets Villian to bluff at having the 4. I can't see myself laying this hand down on the turn.

Anyways he had 44.

I wanted to see if people thought I should have raised the flop.

Perhaps calling the river is better. I just really thought that he had a weak Ace.
