Default Tough hand at 100NL

Villain is 30/3 , seems solid , won a big pot earlier by making a flush on turn and moving all in with it.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (10 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter

CO ($93.20)
Button ($97.79)
SB ($59.65)

MP2 ($94.80)
MP3 ($95.76)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50.

<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $32</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 raises all in</font>

Final Pot: $98

~100$ more for me to call.

Obviously I was certain of my hand till the river, I know I made a mistake by just raising 24$ more on turn giving him too good odds to call(not that I wanted him to fold). After he called I knew he had a set / lower straight / flush draw + pair . I thought the best move for me in the river was to make a blocking bet. If he now has fh he will mostlikely move in and I should fold. and if he has something else he will call me or be to scared perhaprs to move all in on a bluff. Enough said what do you think about this hand.

I would bet more on the flop and turn and then 3bet push the turn.

Pot flop, Pot/3-bet-push turn. UTG basically told you he has a monster by minraising the turn and will most likely not fold to your push. As played you have to fold this river, 30/3 does not look agressive enough to assume he pushes here with anything you still beat.

I think this is a call. If he's solid, he's not limping with k5, kk; and he's not slowplaying a set off the flop with flush and straight draws out. Vilian has probably overplayed his top pair here. Call.

i would bet the turn harder ($12 in $14 pot) then if miniraised, make it $75. maybe even push, there are tons of cards you dont want to see on the river. as played, i think the river is a fold.

30/3 is anything but solid. And unless proven otherwise I think it's normally correct at these stakes to presume that a turnminraise by a weak player means set or better. (And they do not care how drawheavy the board is, they are only worried about not losing customers.)

I would bet the turn a little harder and push or at least make a REALLY big bet if minraised. (If I made a big bet it would be enough to committ me to the hand, so effectively a push)

I think you're probably beat on the river by something dumb like 56, but who knows maybe not.

At very least you need to raise more on the turn so that the river is an easy push for a PSB or less.

I probably stack off on the river because I'm a calling station. Looks like a fold though.

oh yeah - i would check/call the river most of the time (or check/fold depending on the bet and villian)

I only use blocking bets for opponents that I know are capable of making big river bluffs, which imo are few and far between.

I really dont put him on a boat. None of the hands that make a boat (a set or a hand with a 5 in it) make much sens based on how its been played so far. He looks like a weak player (not very agreesive), but feels like his king isnt getting enough value for like a 1/3 bet on the river (wtf is up with that?). Looks like a call for me. You need to bed more on the river, more like $60 or something, then when he pushes its easy to call and if he calls you get more value.
