Default $555 - interesting hand from samsonh

I was sweating him on this.

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t600 with t50 antes (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

CO (t1720)
Button (t2020)
SB (t7725)
Hero (t2035)

Preflop: Hero is in BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">CO folds</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="red">SB raises to t7675 (All-in)</font>, Hero?

SB is pretty good. CO is truly horrible. Button isn't much better. SB has been pushing everytime from SB into BB, but seems to give passes other times.

SNGPT doesn't like it even with villain on 100%. Does anyone call here? Or do you go into dead zone mode and pray someone else dies first? Seems like a win would make 2nd place very likely.

If CO is really awful, wouldn't it make sense to wait? He'll be BB next for a third of his chips. You also get a couple of chances to steal his blind before it's over.

Why not let him screw up and get you itm?

Well he has this nasty habit of folding down to almost nothing, then doubling up. Like 4 times this has happened.

Doesn't that mean his calling range for hero's likely push from the sb next hand will be narrow?

If you believe that to be true, then ev fold goes up.

This was a very frustrating tourney for me. SB was pushing very early into me with a huge range. He doubled me at 75-150 by pushing 8T into my AK. He pushed into CO and doubled him when I was going to push and would have eliminated him . Button and CO both do not quite comprehend poker other than possibly knowing a flush beats a straight. SNGPT says fold on 100%, just making sure.

According to SNGPT if villain is pushing 100%. Hero's calling range is like 55+, A4s+, A7o+, KTo+, K9s+, QTs+. (Could be a little off, I'm quoting from memory.)

I suppose one could make a metagame argument for a somewhat loose call, if hero played the $555s all the time and villain was a regular. Problem in this game was villain knew CO and button were too dumb to pwn. So he seemed to be picking exclusively on hero.

If they're that dumb, they'll bust out sooner than later anyway.
