Default Weekend Happy Thread 9: The Pwnage (Extended thru 4th of July) (woot)

**edit--happy thread usually runs Fri-Sun. As it's the 4th of July weekend in the USA, we'll let this run thru Tuesday nite. Pwn away.**

It's Friday, boys and girls. Time for all you kids who are running hot to turn it up a notch. And for all of us who are running meh to turn things around. Weekends rock in the world of online poker.

This thread is where you can brag on yourself and post those wonderful NL hands where you get some stackage. There's the usual suspects of AA AI PF and sets that get paid off. But, there's also some smart poker here and there, where we can all benefit from a look-see. Usually, these hands aren't posted in SSNL hand threads because Hero knows what he was doing and needs no help. So, find 'em here and maybe learn something.

Bonus points this week for a successful flop b3b AI on a draw. And, it'd be awesome to see a successful stacking of a 2p2'er for once. They've been kind of rare.

Requirements for posting hands in this thread:

1. Hero believes he played the hand well.
2. HERO MUST WIN AT LEAST 80 bb's.
3. Post only converted hands and remember to post results.

4. It's also very nice of you if you can take the results out of white, so we don't have to highlight to see them.
5. If it's not obvious why you played the hand the way you did, give a quick reasoning.

So, if you play a hand that qualifies over the weekend, post it here and share the joy. Weekend starts now and runs through Sunday night.

Per usual, I'll start:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Let this be a lesson to all you would-be AA slowplayers. I know you're out there.

At work --- no hands yet. Hope to contribute later!

a few questions though:

1 - what if AJ had a really bad Friday night? Got no stackage in his friday night session. Would there be a thread? Wud he go back to Thursday and post something from that session?

2 - comment : The Grunch : thanks for the reminder about AA!

3 - centja1 : on the river. Is there any value to just calling buttons' push and seeing if villain 2 will overcall? I mean, if you're villain 2 is there anything that you would overcall with here that you wouldn't call a 2nd all-in? Or does the all-in make it look more like you want to showdown against 1 hand and want to shut out villain2 so he's more likely to call? Its a fantastic hand, just wondering if we oculd have squeezed another $15 out of it?

Thanks!

First hand at the table. Everybody limps in to my big blind. Not with AKo, baby. I hit the TPTK I was looking for. Bet near pot size, and the short stack pushes in. Against the average 5NL donk this is an instacall for me. Boom, stacked. I would've expected at least a top pair, lower kicker, though.

I like this hand because I trapped a c-bet and a bluff raise.

i thought about that for about two seconds and realized that, if i just called the all-in, villain#1 had to call half of his stack to showdown. i reasoned that if he was calling the rest of his stack, he likely would have put it in himself the first time around unless he had the nut flush or a straight. With the flush he's calling and with the straight he has an easy fold, even for $15 more.

one thing i did do was try to figure out the exact amount to bet to put him all in since that would be much less psychologically intimidating than a raise to $80. but, i had the nuts and couldn't do math at the time.
