Default Trips on river vs maniac, push or call?

The villain is literally 90/65/1.1 after 71 hands. He thinks he is Gus Hansen.

$0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em
Seat 1: x ($41.75)
Seat 2: x ($8.25), is sitting out
Seat 3: x ($53.55)
Seat 4: Villain ($80.60)
Seat 5: Hero ($49.50)
Seat 6: x ($69.35)
Hero posts SB $0.25
x posts BB $0.50

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [Qd Ac]
2x folds, Villain raises to $1.75, Hero calls $1.50, x folds

*** FLOP *** [7c Kh As]
Hero checks, Villain checks I wanted to checkraise him, but it didn't work out.

*** TURN *** [7c Kh As] [3s]
Hero bets $2.50, Villain calls $2.50

*** RIVER *** [7c Kh As 3s] [Ah]
Hero bets $4.50, Villain raises to $22.50, Hero ??

As played, call the river. The nice thing about being Gus Hansen is that sometimes you get your big hands paid off because you're bluffing enough that a hand like AQ has to call on the river.

You might want to reraise preflop to get a feel for if villain really has something, or is just raising with crap.

I think calling is better. If villain is bluffing, you get paid a decent amount. If he has some kind of lucky full house, you don't pay him off more than you have to. If villain has Ax that is less than AQ and not a full house, then I suppose you lose some value by not pushing, but I'd rather lose that little extra than pay off a villain who finally caught his big hand by playing crazy for a while.

push it in. at .25/.50 most people still think that there trip aces are good, or if he really is that crazy he might just have KQ or Kx. bottom line as said above, you beat so many other hands you'll come out ahead.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I was making my decision to call or push. I actually just called his big bet and he showed an ace with a lower kicker, I guess he was trying to get fancy because he knew that everyone knows he was over-aggressive. He thought I was bluffing and he just lost.

I was going to re-raise preflop, maybe to isolate, but I didn't want to give the strength of my hand away.
