I have this friend.
And this friend happened to play some stupid ass game while drunk, and obviously he ended up $10K in the red. Now the guys he played with are not very friendly, when you owe them money. They usually break a few legs and take of a couple of fingers if you dont pay up. So what do I do? Well being the good friend, I buy the debt. So now he keeps his fingers. The deal was I get 20% juice, and I think thats rather fair. I had to find that money in 30 minutes, to save him from getting mangled. He was supposed to pay me back within 3 months, but its now been over 8 months, and I still havent seen any of my money. And whenever I talk to him about it, he gives me some sorry lame ass story. So write it off as a bad beat? (along with him) - Or be patient? |

I'd put the debt back on him, seriously.
Actually I'd drag him around in my car with his head caught in my window so he "understands." |

You loaned him the money without making him sign a promissory note?
I can't fathom loaning a significant amount of money to anyone, even a good friend, without getting something in writing. |
