No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
No reads just sat down. The turn and river bets are my concerns. The button raised all in on the river. I called the river raise simply because I was getting almost 6:1 and I really don't dislike the turn bet because I can't assume that card made his hand.
I'm really unsure about the river bet. I didn't fear the 4, and figured I could get called by worse aces, but I really don't know what would be optimal. Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
check turn, check call river
or block turn and river that's my instinct here as played, you're getting 5 to 1 to call the river on a more macro note, this hand shows why A5s is a sucky hand to play out of position |

Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
Yuck, I see this all the time at NL50.
You are probably beat, but I agree that you have to call this given the pot odds. |

I'm calling that $11 raise on the river too. You're probably beat, but there's just too much money out there.

Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
Is it common practice for anyone to check the turn? I'm really confused here. Hence the title.

Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
I like the turn bet both for value and to protect against the backdoor flush draw.

Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
I'd bet the turn. Same reasons as Dunga... Your hand is vulnerable. Bet to protect it. Tough river...

Re: No Limit Fundamentals Seem To Escape Me
At $25 and $50, try out PSB on the flop with a flush draw. You've got Aces up charge them because they will chase or think they are ahead with AJ.
I think the key here is the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the flop lessens the percent times you're shown a flush here and means you have to call here given the odds. If the flop was A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] x [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] you'd see a flush here a lot and my line is c/c turn and river small bets or block. Read here helps choose the line. |
