Default Amazing or interesting pet stories

Ok, so we all know pets are awesome? But how awesome?
Please post interesting stories about your pets.

My cat Bandit used to jump and attack the ceiling. When he was a kitten he had like a 12 foot vertical leap and would often attack the ceiling fan. Then he got fat and became less cool.

I had a hamster who used to escape from his cage on a regular basis. It's somewhat difficult to explain, but it was basically a wire cage with a latched door in the middle of the ceiling. He would climb up the bars on the cage wall and then climb across the ceiling monkey-bar-style, push open the latch and open the door with one hand and then use the other one to swing himself up and out. It was pretty incredible.

My dog (Westhighland terrier) will watch TV all day long on the chance of seeing a dog on the TV. If he does he leaps up against the TV and then runs around to the back of it and sniffs.

Well, I think it's funny.

This can't be real. Does he ever hump the TV?

I tell no lie. He doesn't hump the TV because his little giblets were removed long ago. He watches the TV all day if it's on and he's not out with me or in the yard. Since I know he likes it I leave the Food Network on. He really likes Animal Planet (more chances to leap on the TV) but I can't take all the barking so he only gets that now and then.

No, all/most dogs can do this if trained.

The family dog of my childhood, a beagle, lived to be 19, which I'm told is remarkable.

It was pretty funny to see him pick up the scent of a rabbit, and start barking, and following the scent...while the rabbit just sat there, ten yards away, watching.
