I'm wondering if anyone has all the info on what single table satellites are running at the Rio. Google has been no help. Basicaly, buy-ins/structure/vig/availability. Thanks much.

Re: WSOP single table sat\'s
We've had this asked in the WSOP-discussion forum and I think elsewhere as well.
They have all kinds of single-table satellites with all kinds of buy-in's. The $1050 buy-in STT's award one entry to the main-event. Although I think it's just $10k in tourney-chips. They go all the way down to $65 buy-in events that give 1 of those $500 entry-chips plus some extra cash. There are lots of 'deals' and 'saves' made when the tourneys get down to 2 or 3 players. I had a streak where I was in-the-money in 4 in a row as well as 5 out of 6. Made a ton there with a lot of luck combined with really awful opponents. Played mostly $125's and $175's. Played a couple of $225's in there. They will have them all in a section of the playing-area and will just announce when a new one is opening up. The structure is pretty fast, especially at the lower buy-in. 15-minute levels...but on a hand-shuffled game with some super-slow 90-year-old dealers you can go less than an orbit and already you're up to level 2. you get more chips to start with at the $225 level I think. and you get way more in their $530's and $1050's I'm pretty sure. The tourney entry-chips are pretty much as good as cash. You can easily find someone who is registering for another tournament who will buy them off of you for 100% value just to help you out. So, in all practicality, they aren't REALLY single-table sat's to WSOP events. They are kind of single-table sit-and-go's with a winner-take-all structure. I didn't use any of my chips for any events. Just kept using them to buy into more single-table sat's. Also, some people are really awful at deal-making. This is +EV for you right there. Don't be talked into making a bad deal. And if you think you can squeeze a few dollars in a beneficial deal for you then don't be afraid to ask. |
