This was an idea theBruiser500 came up with. I have joked around about the idea but I seriously think it is a cool idea and I want to try it.

The time we will be using is
Current local time in Washington DC Eastern Standard Time (EST). Several threads will be made just prior to the start of the challenge to try and make sure everyone knows about the goal.

From midnight on Monday Jan. 2 2006 till midnight on Tuesday Jan. 3 2006 please do not post in Oot

Now lots of people don't get why anyone would want to do this and they feel they need a reason to even consider trying it. Ideas of banning people that ruin this have been tossed around. I even said I would put offenders on my ignore list.

But I have had time to think more about this and I now feel this would be wrong. This is a challenge to try and do the impossible. No one should be forced to do it they must choose to join. I will not harbor any ill will towards anyone that chooses to post during this time.

Join because it will be amazing if we succeed. Choose to try the impossible and dare to dream have faith in your fellow Ootiot. It is about trust and fellowship, the idea that the good will always overcome the bad.

Yes it is just a stupid message board. But if for one day we all trusted each other and joined together to do a simple silly task for no other reason but to say to each other "Yah I get it, I'm like you, I will not ruin this moment I will enjoy it with you."

Would that be so bad?

If the line is 12:01, I will take the under. Someone will definitely post. It will either be some flamer who wants attention by being the person who posts or someone who feels the need to alaways be different and not do what other people want him to do.

There is nothing wrong with ruining a stupid idea--although by definition a stupid idea is already sort of ruined from the outset.
