Adderall and Poker

I just finished reading the post about poker and weed.
I've played poker, both online and live, under the influence of many different drugs. Each have there distinct benefits and draw backs.

My favorite drug to take while playing is Adderall. My friend has a prescription for 30 mg XR (that is a strong dose that lasts for 18 hours in the blood stream.) Adderall increases my concentration 10 fold.

I started taking adderall while I was in college to aid me in my studies. I quickly found out that it would help my poker game too. The beauty of Adderall is that you focus 100% on what you are doing, be it a history paper, calculating pot odds, or every curve of that hot girls arse.

The first time a took adderall for poker I played 9 hours straight and made 800 bucks playing $6-12 LHE at the Hustler Casino.


There are drawbacks to adderall:

1. Loss of appetite
2. Increased blood pressure
3. Insomnia
4. TILT! The drug increases focus on everything, including idiots and bad beats.
5. Shrinkage (relates to the increased blood pressure)

Meh, I know how everyone thinks its so great, but I really wouldn't recommend taking it. In Canada its no longer a legal prescription drug because of some problem they found with it, (I think it was something to do with it messing up your heart), and I hear its gonna be banned in the US soon as well.

I've dabbled in adderrall.. i call it bitch coke because the effects seem like a mild coke high. I did play cards on it and won a multi table tourny. It does increase your attention I think more because your more "into" it because you feel good and it seems fun. I've know a couple friends to get addicted to it. One downfall of it is it made me so focused on the game everythign else in life became second. I run a business and had a couple calls to make and never made em because I was too wrapped up in poker. So if you are multitasker I wouldn't reccoment it.

Banned in the US? That's not how it works here. Banning adderall would just be bad business, and big business runs the country.

I took 1/2 of adderall before my session tonight

all it really did was make me a little hyper and make me sweat

I guess I was able to focus a little better but I didn't feel a huge difference, basically felt like I took 1/2 pill of No Doze

will attempt again with a full or maybe double dose

also I can't sleep right now, I'm usually asleep by no later than 3am

Is adderall trendy now in poker? I don't read anyone saying, I gotta try ritalin, and ritalin has a longer history (about 50 years to about 10) and is more commonly prescribed for ADD and ADHD and such than adderall (which I think is 2nd).
