Default Test anxiety question

Is test anxiety a lame excuse for being underprepared and not understanding the material routinely, or is it as widespread as some would have you believe?

I just feel that someone experiencing test anxiety that has an easy test thrown in front of them will perform fine. So why not on a medium or hard test?

Just curious what others think, and if anyone out there really has this affiliction. Im not talking about a random blanking, but anxiety continually leading to poor performance.

Thanks

Sounds like your on the right track. The anxiety is probably caused by knowing they don't know the material. You either know it or you don't.. that simple.

I just got out of a year long suspension from school by blaming an anxiety disorder. I actually have it though, I wasn't lying. But point is its a legitimate excuse.
