Hand vs Yellowsub
stars 10-20. Just got back from Bellagio, chillin out opened up some tables.
Yellowsub opens to 80 in MP, unknown calls, both have around 2k, I bump to 320 with QQ from the button. Yellowsub INSTAcalls, other guy also calls. Flop come AKx (x=4?). Suits not relevant. Check check check. Turn Q. YS checks, unknown bet 120 into the 900+ pot. I call, YS checkraises to 500. Unknown folds, I call. River comes A. YS shoves in his remaining 1100 or so. He mighta had a little less than 2k to start the hand. He instantly pushed the river. -Jason |

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
I've played a decent amount vs sub and while he can be pretty crazy and tough, I don't think this is a spot he'd bluff- and it'd be a pretty weird spot for a value bet with trips. Maybe I'm crazy, but I just don't don't see what you beat. I'd be surprised if he didn't have AK here.

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
It sure feels a lot like you're beaten- but I don't know if I understand what by. Assuming he's got AK, (seems like it?) it'd be an awkward spot to check the turn when he's likely afraid of a few river cards (unless he wasn't sure he was best?) - but he got a hell of a river if he did.
Is there a reason you smooth called the 120 bet? I wonder what he does with AK if you bump it to ~600. |

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
I'm slowly moving up the ladder in NL so maybe I'm a moron, but I don't understand the turn. On this turn, at least at 3-6, I'm looking to get all the money in right there. Are you trying to extract max value out of your hand or do you feel like you are behind. I'm sorry if this is a simple play... maybe I'm too big of a donk.

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
Get it all in on turn. He probably has AK,AQ,or J10. If you think he has these three hands ur winning twice and losing once. If he has J10, you have outs. By just calling you might be folding your outs to the J10. By pushing you force him to have J10 or make a bad decision and if he has J10 you still have outs.

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
If he doesn't want to get it in on turn, then fold. Calling is the worst option. What are you looking for, the case Queen to make sure you can't lose? I push, some fold...no one should call.

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
Why would YS check flop and turn with top two?
Also, does YS fold AK if strassa pushes turn? |

Re: Hand vs Yellowsub
So if villan open pushes on the turn, should villan fold? Maybe I'm a bigger fish than I thought. I just don't think I can find a fold or not push on this turn. If he has A-A or K-K then I guess I'm getting stacked. If he has J-10, I have 10 outs. Do players play A-A and K-K like this preflop at 10-20? Some may say tricky, but I think it's asking for trouble. I would love to hear strassa's analysis of his turn play.
