Default Bathroom strategies

Unless they've addressed the problem, there are going to be very long lines at the bathrooms during breaks, such that some people end up missing multiple hands. Being a nice guy, i thought i'd like to share a few things i learned during last year's ME:

- Haul ass.

- Unless you're one of the first ones out of the room, skip the first group of bathrooms and use the ones in the rotunda(?) area which connects the Convention Center to the casino. Eventually, there will be a short line there, but you should easily be able to get there and back without missing any hands.

- If, like me, you are semi-allergic to cigarette smoke, be prepared to hold your breath for a lengthy bit.

- The last hand or two before break is an ideal time to steal blinds, since players are listening to their bladders and/or nicotine addictions and are less inclined to get involved with a hand.

- Peeing in a jar so that you won't need to leave the table is considered poor poker etiquette. Putting said jar on the felt afterwards is similarly frowned upon.

- If you hear beeping and see what appears to be the parting of the Red Sea, that means that Doyle Brunson is coming on his overpowered wheelchair and you best get out of the way.

They've scheduling staggered breaks as well as more portable bathrooms. Should be interesting to see how this all goes starting with event #2.

How long are the breaks? How far away from the poker room are the hotel rooms? If you are staying at the Rio, is it feasable to head up to your room and go to the bathroom there rather than waiting on a long line?

Several miles away.

Not really feasible without a Vespa.

In this months issue of cardplayer they say there will be a bathroom per table this year. Sounds like they are bringing in extras.

I want to know more about the portable bathrooms. What make are they, and will they be on wheels?

Pretty f'n big. (Though "miles" is exaggerating.)

The two towers are where the rooms are. The WSOP will be as far away as you can possibly get from the towers.

I haven't played the WSOP. But I've been to the Rio for another convention. It is a madhouse when they let the conventioneers out. Everybody streaming out of the convention area. Elevator lobby is full. I don't know if I'd risk going to the hotel room.

I'm thinking the portables should probably be milwaukee's best light can reproductions. Then the commercials could feature Chris Ferguson behind the vanity inside one of them. They're missing a golden opportunity if they don't do this.
