KK hand, live 10/20
CO has been at the table for an hour or two. Mostly been tight, haven't seen him get out of line.
I raise KK in MP, CO 3 bets, I 4 bet, he 5 bets. Flop: Q x x I c/r, he calls. Turn: J Here's my plan: Bet/fold the turn and check/call the river, probably folding if a T comes. Sound good? |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
this hand is highly read dependant. most players I've played with would not 5bet AK preflop. against a lot of guys I'd just curl up and c/c down. or on this board I would c/c the flop and bet the turn.
where was this btw? |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
Red Rock Station. I didn't have a great read on the guy unfortunately. I wasn't liking my situation much here but I was suprised when he didn't raise me on the flop or the turn. In the actual hand I had a brain cramp and bet the river for no apparent reason, which I think is a pretty bad bet.

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
so you c/r the flop.. and he cold calls.. the J comes on the turn and you're already worried about a 10 sliding off on the river?
how about you just bet right out on the turn, and if he bumps you.. you call down or fold. im not so sure worrying about a 10 sliding off on the river is your problem here. worrying about the guy having a set of Q's or J's could be the issue, not only that, but he may think you're the one w/ the set of Q's and he has AA. |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
the river bet is pretty strong.. only because of the 5 bets preflop.
like jba said, its a pretty heavy read dependant situation. maybe you should try working on your reads of opponents through every stage of the hand, you gotta pay attention to him especially when someone puts in 5 bets preflop and then calls you down on a pretty scary board for KK. |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
I would call him down. You have no fold equity here and there is no need for any fancy stuff. You have a high enough probability that you will win to call him down.

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
Check/calling the turn is a lot better than bet/folding given the size of the pot, villans flop call of your c/r, and your lack of a solid read on him.

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
I think the best move is to just go into passive mode and check/call the whole way. The pot is too big for me to want to fold a hand as strong as KK, but your opponent has shown enough strength that I wouldn't really want to put in extra bets with it against a tightish opponent. Check/calling isn't the most glamorous option, but I think it is the best.
Just my opinion... |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
welll not really.
what are the range of hands for a standard unknown to put in 5 bets preflop? obviously AA-1010, AK, AQ possibly? so there is some fold equity.. i especially think he probably has AA with the way he played it. |

Re: KK hand, live 10/20
I would bet the flop, call his raise and call it down.
I don't like a CR here because it will get you in a lot of trouble if he has QQ. |
