Best opening moments in Film

To keep with the movie theme lately, what are your picks for best movie openings?

Watching Pulp Fiction for the first time was an experience i'll never forget. I heard all the hype and hate, and formed an image of the movie without ever seeing it. Then as i'm watching the coffee shop scene, i remember thinking how interesting the dialogue was. It felt so natural, yet so foreign. I had no idea where this was going but i was still facinated.

So many things were done right in this scene, but the most remarkable (and insignificant) was the freeze-frame after Honeybunny screams out her command. QT freezes the shot just before she finishes her sentence, which serves as the perfect phantom punch to the gut-shot that the opening song brings. I just remember my head physically snapping foreward a bit and me screaming silently: "Holy [censored]!"

I love the opening scene in Amadeus, the action combined with the music (Symphony #25) is priceless.
