What do you do UTG?
Some starting hands I've been a little unsure about UTG.
Let's assume it's a typical game. JTs KJ QJ A5s (If this is a fold, what do you need with the A to open) AT 66 This is 6 max |

Re: What do you do UTG?
Assuming a normal 6-handed game:
JTs -- raise KJ -- raise QJ -- fold A5s -- fold (I would raise A9s or better, maybe A8s) AT -- raise 66 -- fold |

Re: What do you do UTG?
Thanks. Is AT the worst unsuited A you open with UTG?

Re: What do you do UTG?
I agree with the previous poster with a few minor exceptions.
I'll raise 66 in a tighter game (or one with a lone tard), and I may limp with it (along with other low-mid pairs) on a table that's like 40+vpip with less than 7% PFR. I'll almost always raise A8s, and often A7s if there are only one or two tards at the table with the rest TAGs or tight passives, hoping to isolate against the coldcalling loose player(s). If I get coldcalled in more spots, it's not the end of the world since I'm soooted. |

Re: What do you do UTG?
JTs - raise 70% of the time KJ - raise QJ - fold A5s - fold||||Open - A9s AT - raise 66 -raise |

Re: What do you do UTG?
Agree w/ JRZ, xcept I usually muck JTs in a loose game because I suck at filling straights.

Re: What do you do UTG?
JTs - depends on the table, but usually fold.
KJ - Raise up QJ - Raise up, but like JTs this is borderline. A5s - Fold. I open up A8s typically. AT - Raise up. 66 - Often fold, sometimes raise. I arbitrarily decided that 77 is the lowest I'll go UTG, but again table texture can convince me otherwise. Why does everyone like JTs more than QJo? Queens are still higher than tens right? |

[/ QUOTE ] More straight draws possible combined with its suitedness make it play better against multiple villains (doubt I'm telling you anything you don't already know). Since neither hand has much high card strength, for me, it makes JTs a signifcantly stronger hand. |
