I just went to a NIN concert in Hartford, my friend got free tickets and offered me one. It was the first concert I have been to in a couple years and I was very disappointed. First of all, there were all seats up front and no mosh pit (rock concert with no pit? what is this...alice and chains unplugged??)
Second of all, I felt as if I were in a trance club because of the overly bright flashes, strobes, and electronic backdrop which featured animated projections. I'm a fan of the colored lights and the smoke machine, even the bass sensitive flashes, but can't they just use that stuff to highlight the music? Instead of focusing on a band performing and interacting with the crowd, I felt as if we were seated to watch a light show production accompanied by nine inch nails. Is anyone else displeased by all this flashing garb?? I'm afraid that the next rock concert I will want to go see and actually purchase tickets for, I will be wasting my money. |

OMG, seats at the front of a NIN show? That seems so wrong.

I saw them in Austin. It was a small venue so no lights or lasers. I thought it was an awesome show.
