50NL, QQ vs maniac facing turn minraise
I lost a big hand prior to this and I forgot to reload, but villan plays many hands and has played maniac-like. This is the first hand i've played against him.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) UTG ($50.80) MP ($0) CO ($76.35) Button ($48.78) SB ($81.12) Hero ($30.35) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. 1 fold, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $2.5, CO calls $2.50, SB folds. I know I should have bet 2/3 here. That turn bet was atrocious. I don't know why I even did it? Re: 50NL, QQ vs maniac facing turn minraise
I don't like the turn call and the river call even though he is a maniac.
IMO you are beat |

Re: 50NL, QQ vs maniac facing turn minraise
I called, and he showed 44. The fact that he was playing widly led me to believe I had him. I still think it was a bad call though

Re: 50NL, QQ vs maniac facing turn minraise
He read your bet as weakness, but why did he raise so little??
You both misplayed the turn anyway. 5$ on the river is a strange bet - again, doesn't look like value bet, looks like he wants a cheap showdown, but if he has 44 - WTF?? |

Re: 50NL, QQ vs maniac facing turn minraise
Your preflop and flop bets are good. I don't like your $6 bet into an $18 pot on the turn. It looks too weak and he could easily reraise you all in here, which you couldn't call. My intuition of his cold call on the flop would believe that he's drawing to a flush, probably with the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], but maybe with the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. His min raise on the turn is very suspicious, 9 times out of 10 I throw those queens away immediately in this spot. His play seems a lot like he's holding A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
It seems to me like you either needed to put in at at least 2/3 pot sized bet and then fold to a raise, or, (knowing that he was a maniac) check call the turn and the river unless a spade hits. |

Repeating bet sizes scream fear.
