Default How do you feel about this calldown... blind defense

I didn't really know what to do here. Villain is a TAG over a decent sample.

If you're serious about contiuing with the hand after you flop middle pair, I'd raise the flop. You have position and you get a free card from the play almost often. If you get reraised then you can drop it.

Yea, raise the flop and see how SB reacts against a potential ace.

Unless you've tangled with villain before in stealing the blinds I would be inclined to give him credit for at least an A preflop, if not a PP bigger than a J due to the cap. Again, if you have a read that he is over aggro on steals then the hand plays differently and I'd raise the flop and see if he leads the turn. Other wise I think you can let go of this on the flop.

You realize that this doesn't really tell us anything at all, right?

In point of fact, I don't really think a read on Villan (aside from "cold-blooded maniac") is going to change how you play this hand. This is as straightforward as it gets. You can either just fold the flop outright, or raise the flop and fold to a 3-bet. If he smooth-calls your flop raise, check behind on the turn and call one on the river.

Hero is getting 13-to-1 on a peel if he does this.

The only hands we don't have odds to call against are AA and JJ. Folding MP + the nut bdfd getting 13:1 is not an option.

Normally I would raise flop and fold to 3 bet, but this is a case where I would call three and fold turn u/i - not just because of the odds, but because there are an awful lot of cards that would improve our hand. With second pair good kicker, BDFD & BDSD I think it's worth seeing the turn.
