Borgata Rule - We have covered this befrore for other places
The borgata seems to be lagging behind in one thing (and I LOVE THE B - so this is in no way an anti borgata rant)They still allow any player in the hand to ask to see a hand that is mucked even with no reason (such as collusion)....
drove me nuts yesterday. I was running good at 6/12 and winning a large portion of the pots I played but a few times I went to the river and lost so upon muck one player would ask again and again to see it and the dealers would show every time.... thats all |

At the Borg a dealer is supposed to allow this unless the floor gets involved. I've seen it happen before, and it makes for a much happier table. However if the offending player is absolutely horrible and the table doesn't seem to care then you should just let it slide. Sometimes stopping an angle isn't worth the headache. Re: Borgata Rule - We have covered this befrore for other places
i was at borgata this weekend... this rule came up in a conversation at the table, i heard that friday night at I think 10/20 NL there was a hand that was all in, and delt to river... one player showed his cards and the other player mucked... when the winner asked to see the mucked cards the dealer went into the muck and pulled out his cards... turns out the mucked cards were the winner - and the chips were shifted to the player that had mucked... of course this turned into a big arguement between the floor and the player who had thought he won the pot, but the floor's explaination was that since he asked for the cards to be shown and pulled from the much, they became live again thus the player that had mucked wins the pot

Re: Borgata Rule - We have covered this befrore for other places
I wasn't there this weekend, but...
This is probably true. If the seeming winner of a hand asks to see the seeming loser's mucked hand at showdown, that hand then becomes live and must be properly identified. Guy got what he deserved in my opinion. If another player at the table asks to see mucked cards at showdown, they can be shown but those cards are dead and generally have no claim to the pot (which is why the dealer is supposed to "tap" them dead on top of the muck). Also, the big NL at Borg is 10-25 generally, though 25-50 has run a lot recently. Jeff |

The NL decision was dead on and I agree with TT that it often is not worth it...but this guy was such a pain in the ass...

Re: Borgata Rule - We have covered this befrore for other places
i agree with TT, it is a headache however the player always asking to see a hand is taking advantage of this rule. if its a "table captain" like (i hate to even mention) TIGER (you know who im talking about) i dont mind asking for the floor to intervene
